littlefolks was started in 2001 by Jennifer Hennig, who also teaches many of the courses. Jennifer Hennig is a native speaker of English. She has lived and worked in Germany since 1972. Her varied professional experience qualifies her as a teacher for all age groups.

After training as a primary school teacher at Bretton Hall College of Education in Yorks., England, she taught for three years at a primary school in Letchworth, Herts., England.

Since 1972 she has taught at Hainerberg Elementary School in Wiesbaden, at the Aufbaugymmnasium Montabaur, in years 5 and 6 at the Hauptschule Wirges (secondary modern school). Until the summer of 2004 she taught at the Haupt-/ Regionale Schule in Neuwied.

From 1974 to 1975 she worked at the Peter-Jordan-Schule (a special school for mentally handicapped young people) in Mainz.

From 1990 to 1998, as well as teaching English to young people, she was involved in the in-service teacher training programme of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, where she lectured on various aspects of foreign language teaching methodology and where she conducted many workshops on this subject, in particular on foreign language learning for very young learners.

From 1997 to 1998 Jennifer Hennig was one of a team of technical advisers to primary school teachers in Rhineland-Palatinate wishing to qualify as language teachers as part of the project 'Fremdsprachenarbeit in der Grundschule' (foreign language learning in the primary school). She has also run many language training workshops for teachers in Rhineland-Palatinate.
